Relaxed Signage

More signage news from around the world from Hants and Dorset Signs as Wellington village council with a unanimous vote preliminarily approved an updated ordinance regulating signs. The village's sign code is older than the village itself and considered restrictive for businesses, particularly those in shopping centers.

To that end, the new ordinance would allow window signage to cover up to 50 percent of the glass, permanent internal banners and temporary outdoor banners. Also A-frame signs and additional street frontage monument signs with tenant names would be allowed.

Some other changes: gas stations must post gasoline prices on signs they dedicate exclusively for that purpose. They can't use them to advertise promotions.
