Signs To Light The Way

More signage news from in and around the UK from Hants and Dorset Signs - as illuminated signs on the railway bridge over Southend High Street , Southend and banners on lamp posts are planned to help promote shopping and any future special events in the town centre. The proposals, drawn up by Marzia Abel, will be considered by the development control committee at a meeting today. The head of planning Andrew Meddle is recommending consent should be given to the schemes.

The first proposal is for banners on 45 lamp posts along the length of the High Street from the Victoria to the Royals shopping centres. The council is also planning two illuminated signs on the east and west sections of the railway bridge for 12 weeks over the Christmas period. These will feature the words Christmas on Sea promoting Southend’s corporate “on Sea” image.
